ST MARY'S CHURCH REDLYNCH : NEWS

Church in the Hall Newsletter March 2019:  It is quite rare these days to see a March hare in the countryside - the expression “mad as a March hare” evolved from their crazy antics which only occur in March which is their breeding season. In the Church calendar, this year’s March is not so much crazy as a bit confusing as Easter is very late this year - Easter Sunday, when we celebrate the Risen Lord, is not until 21st April. Mothering Sunday, usually in the first couple of weeks of March, is this year right at the end - on 31st. Please do put this in your diary as we will be holding a Family Service in St Mary’s at 10.00 am with flowers for the mums and grandmums. On the first and third Sundays of March we will have our usual Church in the Hall at 9.45 am for breakfast with worship from 10.00 am. “You have to listen in order to hear” is what we will be talking about on 3rd March - inspired by Luke 9: 28-36 - when we hear how Jesus appeared to the disciples with Elijah and Moses and was transfigured. On 17th March the discussion is around ”choosing the right path”. The text is again from Luke, this time Chapter 13 v. 31-35. Jesus is advised to escape from Herod but He says His place is in Jerusalem.
